Old Design Meets New Framed Occasions Stamp Set

Today I’m sharing a project design I’ve used quite a few times before, but with a new stamp set.

This is the Framed Occasions Stamp Set from the Annual Catalogue, plus of course, the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch.

My previous versions of this project can be seen here, here and here.

For this version I chose a colour combination of Sweet Sorbet, Pale Papaya and Pear Pizzazz, with Basic White.

Each shape is stamped with an image or sentiment from the Framed Occasions Stamp Set. This isn’t all of the stamps in the set, there were five (three sentiments and two shapes) I didn’t use!

The Pear Pizzazz leaves are coloured with a touch of Wink of Stella, along with a dots in the centre of the Sweet Sorbet flowers.

On this project, the sentiment is one of the panels and is raised up on Dimensionals.

This panel sits on a length of coordinating In Color Metallic Woven Ribbon.

Iridescent Rhinestones are dotted around the project as a finishing touch.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Hey Sports Fan Embellishments

For last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa, I designed the project around the embellishmets in the Hey Sports Fan Suite Collection from the Jan-Jun Mini Catalogue.

The Resin Stars from the Suite Collection influenced my colour combination, along with the spools of Fan Baker’s Twine.

Using the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch, each of the colours, Bumblebee, Evening Evergreen, Night of Navy, Poppy Parade and Basic White are cut out.

These are then arranged on the project.

Next, lengths of the Baker’s Twine are placed at angles, criss-crossing the project.

A sentiment, from the Hello Beautiful Stamp Set is added to the Basic White shape and attached using Dimensionals.

Finally, some of the Resin Stars complete the project.

This is a great project for teenagers, or those who are more difficult to make for. The design can also be replicated using different colours, shapes, sentiments, ribbons/twine and embellishments.

Beautifully Penned Customer Thank You Cards

For those who shopped with me in July, here is the thank you card I made.

It uses the fabulous Beautifully Penned DSP. This FREE DSP can be yours during SAB.

Here I’ve teamed the black and white paper with Blushing Bride accents.

A Blushing Bride base card, with a Basic Black layer creates the perfect background for the piece of DSP.

Another piece of DSP is then cut and added, along with a shape from the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch.

Some coordinating ribbon then adds another touch of pink.

Finally, a sentiment from the coordinating Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set is stamped. It is cut out and layered with shapes from the Double Oval Punch.

The sentiment is raised up on Dimensionals.

I love this paper as it can be kept black and white, or you can add splashes of colour.

Celebrate with Flowers – Project 5

Along with the four projects taught at my recent Stamp Set of the Month Class, the attendees were given a link to a video showing them how to create two bonus cards using the items in their class kit.

This collage effect card is the first bonus project.

All of the stamping from the Celebrate with Flowers Stamp Set is done onto shapes cut using the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch.

As before, it uses Pale Papaya, Mint Macaron and Highland Heather, along with Basic White for the colour combination.

The coloured shapes have tone-on-tone stamping. Most of the shapes have some Wink of Stella added for some sparkle.

The most difficult part of this project is deciding where each shape will go.

Once that is decided, each piece is stuck to a layer, with the overhang then cut off. Then, this layer is stuck straight to the card.

For the ribbon swoosh, a piece of the Pale Papaya & White Woven Ribbon is cut down the centre to create a raw edge, similar to the edge of the shapes.

The rest of this piece of ribbon is used in the final project from the class. Pop back tomorrow to see that design.

A sentiment from the Art Gallery Stamp Set, cut with the Floral Gallery Dies is then added on Dimensionals.

To finish the project, Rhinestones are dotted around the card.

Using one shape is a great way to create a design. I really love this collage effect.

Postage Stamp and Textures In Good Taste

This masculine style project combines an Embossing Folder, some DSP and a Punch.

Using Crumb Cake and Early Espresso, I chose to use Very Vanilla as I wanted a more grungey-type design. See my video on how I choose between Basic White and Very Vanilla.

The background is given texture using the Painted Textures 3D Embossing Folder. I’ve then added some extra colour using Crumb Cake and a Sponge Dauber.

In Good Taste DSP, currently on Special Offer, provides the shapes cut out using the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch.

These are layered down the centre of the embossed piece with a length of Faux Suede Trim across the project.

A sentiment from the Many Messages Stamp Set is stamped and again cut out with the punch. I chose to ink up the stamp with an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker.

Finally, the sentiment is raised up on Dimensionals.

This project has only used a small piece of DSP, so you could make a LOT of cards from a pack of DSP using this design. Grab a pack of DSP while it is discounted, for even more value for money.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Postage Stamp Punched Pieces in Purple

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project, I revisited another card from my Abstract/Shapes Papercrafting Class.

This time, it was Postage Stamp punched pieces in purples shades, rather than blues.

The Postage Stamp Punch is a fabulous new tool from the Mini Catalogue.

Using Thick Whisper White for the basecard allows each of the colours to shine.

We have Purple Posy, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss.

My top tip for projects like this is to stick the shapes onto another piece. This stops the needs for being really accurate with your cutting and sticking.

All that’s needed is to arrange the pieces in a pattern, leaving a small gap between each one. Any overhang is then cut off before sticking this piece onto the basecard.

My sentiment is from the Forever Fern Stamp Set and is cut out using the Postage Stamp Punch. As the notches can be lined up, it’s fairly easy to cut the shape smaller than the original shape.

A loop of Metallic-Edge Ribbon is then stuck to the project, before the sentiment is added using some Mini Dimensionals.

This design is really quick and easy to make. You could even make a batch and add a relevant sentiment when it is time to send.

Abstract/Shapes Class – Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch

Earlier in the week it was my Papercrafting Class. The theme for this session was Abstract/Shapes and the kit recipients had 6 projects to make.

This is the first I’m sharing with you. It’s quick and easy and you can pop one together in no time at all.

It uses the fabulous new Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch from the Annual Catalogue. Now you know I love punches, so I used Page 168 of the Catalogue for my inspiration.

As these projects were suitable for teenagers or more generic, I chose to use a range of blues. These are Balmy Blue, Pacific Point, Seaside Spray, Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy. Crumb Cake is the colour for the base card and layer, plus Very Vanilla for the sentiment.

The hardest part of this project is deciding where to place the shapes. Just stick them onto your layer and trim off the excess, then stick the layer down. I’ve offset my shapes from each other down the card to avoid everything looking too uniform.

For the sentiment, I’ve used the Many Mates Stamp Set with Misty Moonlight Ink and a Blender Pen. I then cut it out using the punch, but put it in again to make it slightly narrower.
