A Theatrical Thank You

Last week, I returned to my local theatre to watch one of my favourite shows.

Yes, Rocky Horror is back on tour and visited my hometown for the week.

It was lovely being back in a theatre doing something that I did pre-pandemic.

To say thank you to everyone involved in getting the show back on the road, I made this card.

It uses Basic Black and Poppy Parade in a nod to the colour theme of the show.

The background stamping is from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set.

Thank You is from the Blossoms in Bloom Stamp Set, cut out using the Double Oval Punch.

A length of Metallic Mesh Ribbon sits behind the sentiment. This gives a little bit of sparkle.

For a finishing touch, a few Rhinestones add a touch more sparkle.

Saying Farewell to the Rocky Horror Tour

Last weekend I said farewell to the Rocky Horror Tour. It has been touring the UK since December last year, and I’ve watched it at some of the venues it has visited.

Although the tour finishes today, last week was my final visit and was my opportunity to hand out the cards I’d made to say thank you.

I made 10 different cards so this is a picture heavy post. However, I haven’t posted ALL the pictures.

To see the full set, head to my Rocky Horror Pinterest Board where they will be appearing over the next few days.

Each of the cards used a variety of Stampin’ Up! products. You can see the Tailored Tag Punch and the 1/2″ Circle Punch were used quite a lot in the projects.

Can you spot some of the other products I used?

Did you spot some of the variety of products I used?
I was particularly pleased with the bow I created for both Riff Raff and Janet. Who knew that Elephant Ears would come in useful!

I had great fun making these as it was something a bit different to my normal crafting routine.

Don’t forget that booking for my final evening classes of the year closes very soon. Head to my Class Timetable for more details and to book your place.

Below, I’ve listed just a handful of the main products I used to create the projects. To order any Stampin’ Up! products, including the BRAND NEW Christmastime is Here Suite, head to my 24/7 online store

Graffiti Wall for a Rocky Horror Birthday

As many of you know, I’m a huge fan of Rocky Horror and have been attending various shows of the current UK tour.

I made this card for the lovely gentleman who has been playing Frank-n-Furter for his Birthday.

A Rocky Horror Birthday card. Designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs.

It’s based on this project from my Mostly Men Papercrafting Class.

I’ve used a Real Red and Basic Black to reflect the main colours of The Rocky Horror Show, along with Basic Gray.

Both the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set and Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set provide the various Birthday greetings.

Once the greetings are added, images from the Artisan Textures Stamp Set create a spray can effect.

The whole piece is then given an embossed effect using the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder.

A sponge dauber and Basic Gray Stampin’ Pad is then used to add some extra definition to some of the brick work before it is all assembled.

I really enjoy making these graffiti wall cards as you can let your imagination run wild.

Check back soon to see the end of tour cards I made for the Cast.

Saying Thank You Rocky Horror Style!

As you know, I am a fan of the Rocky Horror stage show and it was touring throughout 2016.

Well, the tour came to an end on New Year’s Eve and I wanted to make Thank You cards for those who had been involved the production.

Now, I’m not one for what I would call ‘lovey-dovey’ stamp sets, but when I saw the new Sealed With Love Stamp Set in the Spring/Summer Catalogue, I just knew I had to purchase it to make these cards.

Stampin' Up! Sealed With Love Thank You
If you are familiar with the show, you will know that one of iconic images is the lips, as well as the colours being red and black, so this Stamp Set was just perfect.

Using a previous card as my inspiration, I set about designing some Thank You cards using notecards as the base.

The Real Red Baker’s Twine is sadly no longer available as it has now retired, but you could supplement it with other current colours if you wanted.

One of the bonuses of being a Demonstrator is being able to purchase these products before they go on general sale, so I could use the set well in advance and hand the cards out on my visit to the show between Christmas and New Year.

As I ran out of time to complete the cards myself, I stamped all of pieces and handed them to my friend to put together.  We then both wrote our own messages on Whisper White Cardstock and stuck them inside.

I also made some packaging for presents using Real Red cardstock and the lips stamp set but unfortunately I didn’t take a photo of those!
