Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Countless Trees

Continuing with my alphabet theme, last week’s Card & Cuppa project used the Countless Trees Stamp Set from the July-Dec Mini Catalogue.

If you have been with me for a while, you may notice a similarity with two previous stamp sets – Trendy Trees (from way back in 2009/2010) and Vertical Greetings (2016/2017).

Both of those stamp sets were firm favourites of mine at the time, so it will be no surprise that I’m quite fond of Countless Trees too!

In fact, this project is based on this Vertical Greetings Class project from six years ago.

For this project, I chose to make it as a card for anyone using Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake and Garden Green, along with Very Vanilla. It’s also a great project for an avid gardener.

Each pot was stamped first to create the spacing. Then, the trees were ‘built’ with the various trunks and tops. You can mix and match the components to make countless tree combinations.

A length of coordinating Baker’s Twine is wrapped across the project.

As the Countless Trees Stamp Set is images only, the sentiment comes from the Art Gallery Stamp Set.

The shape is cut out twice using the Stylish Shapes Dies. One is then cut in half and used as a backing layer. This sentiment piece sits on Dimensionals above the Twine.

Finally, some Solid Faceted Gems are applied to one of the trees to look like fruit.

Finishing Up Friday – For You in Balmy Blue

This week’s Finishing Up Friday uses a pre-embossed piece and some punched pieces I had in my crafting stash.

For this monochrome card I chose Balmy Blue alongside Basic White.

I cut the pre-embossed piece from the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder into three, and added some ink around the edges of each piece using a Blending Brush.

Then I used the Double-Stitched Ribbon in coordinating Balmy Blue and White and separated it. As the thin blue ribbon is stitched to the white ribbon with a clear thread, I carefully unpicked the stitching to create two ribbons.

The white part of the ribbon is then stuck across the project before adding the punched shapes. These are cut using Bough Punch.

Next, it was the turn of the thinner blue ribbon to create a ribbon swoosh. Head to this Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques video for a demonstration on how I create mine.

A sentiment from the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set is then cut out using the Beautiful Shapes Dies and layered onto a circle cut from the Stylish Layers Dies.

Finally, some Solid Faceted Gems, also in Balmy Blue are dotted across the project to maintain the monochrome look.

A Pretty Poppy in Shades of Blue

This pretty poppy in shades of blue uses the Painted Poppies Stamp Set and the coordinating Painted Labels Dies.

My colour combination is the In Color Starry Sky, along with Balmy Blue and Basic White.

For the background, I’ve stamped some of the block flower shapes, along with the splat-type stamp down the edge of the card.

The flower and leaves are stamped in Starry Sky and cut out using the dies, with the poppy then given a coat of Wink of Stella.

A sentiment from the Lovely & Lasting Stamp Set is stamped to one side of the shape, also cut from the Painted Label Dies.

This allows the poppy and leaves to be set to the left.

The whole sentiment piece is then raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, some coordinating Solid Faceted Gems in Balmy Blue are dotted across the project.

This would be a great design to recreate in other colours too.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Sun Prints DSP

Last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project may look familiar, that is deliberate!

At a previous class, there was a lot of love for this project, and I was asked for something similar but with a masculine feel. I don’t like to disappoint!

Also, you know that I’m not one to turn down an opportunity to create one of my stripe projects!

This card uses the Sun Prints DSP as the stripes. Night of Navy and Gray Granite, along with Basic White, the colours from the paper, provide the the coordinating items.

The stripey background is made, then given a some extra inking around the edge using a Blending Brush.

A length of the Shimmer Ribbon sits across the project.

Leaves cut from the Bough Punch and the Flowers & Leaves Punch are given a touch of extra colour and sit behind.

Happy Birthday is from the Lovely & Lasting Stamp Set and cut out with the Lasting Label Punch from the Bundle.

Another stem of leaves sits to the side. Using Dimensionals, the sentiment piece is then stuck to the project.

Finally, some coordinating Solid Faceted Gems are dotted around the project.

Finishing Up Friday – Perfectly Penciled Petal Pink Hippo

This week’s Finishing Up Friday is this cute pink hippo.

It uses Perfectly Penciled DSP, Stylish Shapes Dies, SAB Hippest Hippos Stamp Set with the coordinating Hippo dies, and Petal Pink accents.

Don’t forget there isn’t long to earn SAB items with a qualifying order. You only have until the end of August.

This week, I was able to identify the projects that the pieces were left over from – here and here.

With my colour combination of Petal Pink, Basic Black and Basic White decided for me, all I had to do was colour my pre-stamped and pre-cut hippo.

I chose to use my Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends and coordinate it with the rest of the project.

You have seen me use this card layout many times in the past. First, a sentiment from the Hippest Hippos Stamp Set sits in the top right-hand corner.

Next, a piece of the DSP goes on the bottom, with a length of the Petal Pink Ribbon across the join.

Then, the shapes and hippo are layered together and sit on Dimensionals above the ribbon.

For a finishing touch, some Solid Faceted Gems, also in Petal Pink are dotted around this quick, easy and fun card.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Perfectly Penciled DSP

The new Perfectly Penciled DSP made an appearance at last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa Class.

This fabulous new DSP is black and white, so is great for colouring.

However, I chose to leave the Perfectly Penciled DSP as it comes and used Petal Pink accents to soften it.

Different pieces and sides of the DSP are cut and placed to create a background.

A length of the new Soft Polyester Ribbon is then added.

Next, a sentiment from the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set is then stamped onto a cut out from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Another shape is cut in Basic Black and offset behind.

Finally, some of the new Solid Faceted Gems from the Annual Catalogue, also in Petal pink add some little extra touches of colour.
