Special Christmas Cards 2022 – Project 1

The first of the three projects from my Special Christmas Cards class is this pretty wreath.

These cards are those you make for the special people in your life. They have extra layers, take longer to create, and are those that you tend to give in person.

Along with the cards, which are a non-standard square, the attendees all made envelopes from DSP too.

This wreath uses the two punches, the Bough Punch and Decorative Circle.

Various shades of green in Shaded Spruce, Garden Green and Old Olive provide the greenery, along with Gold.

Using a Blending Brush and a Garden Green Stampin’ Pad, the leaves were given a little extra ink on the edges.

Each leaf shape was then stuck onto one of three layers, made from the Decorative Circle Punch shpaes. These were then stuck together using Dimensionals to create extra depth.

My sentiment from the Spruced Up Stamp Set is then stamped in Real Red onto another Decorative Circle shape and stuck to the front of the wreath.

A gold bow, made from the Gold Shimmer Ribbon is then stuck to the wreath using Glue Dots.

Finally, some Red Rhinestone Berry are added, along with some Iridescent Rhinestones accents.

Countdown to Christmas 2022 – Week 11

Our penultimate Countdown to Christmas 2022 project is this fun parcel card. It is also the 4th and final project from my Crack Your Christmas Cards Class.

As with the other projects from the class, this design uses the Spruced Up Stamp Set and coordinating Spruced Up Outline Dies. It also uses the Real Red & Garden Green Ribbon Combo Pack and Seasonal Sequins too.

I have been using this design a lot recently and love how versatile it is.

The project uses 3 colours from the class colour palette, Crushed Curry, Real Red and Garden Green.

Presents are stamped across the background before the ribbon ‘wrapping’ is added.

Two circles cut using the Layering Circles Dies are then layered together, one with a sentiment stamped onto it.

Next, it was time to create the candy canes. As I wanted them to face in opposite directions, rather than the one way in the stamp set, I used a different method.

First, the cane shapes were cut out using the dies and laid next to each other straight edge to straight edge. Then, using the striped bauble image in the stamp set, the candy canes were given their stripes.

These were then glued together and a star was attached using a Glue Dot, before the whole piece was raised up using Dimensionals.

Finally, Seasonal Sequins are dotted across the project.

Crack Your Christmas Cards 2022 – Project 3

Another post that is more ‘Festive Friday’ than Finishing up Friday.

This project is the third from my annual Crack Your Christmas Cards Class.

It uses the same Spruced Up Stamp Set and coordinating Dies from the Class Kit as the previous projects. Along with the Ribbon Combo Pack and Seasonal Sequins.

My colour combination is three of the class colours, Real Red, Garden Green and Balmy Blue.

To begin, the background is stamped multiple times before a length of Ribbon sits on top of it to cover where the stamped pieces meet.

Next, parcels and snowflakes are stamped and die cut before being stuck to the edges of shape cut from the Decorative Circle Punch. I think this shape looks like a snowball at this time of year!

The whole shape is then stuck to the project using Dimensionals.

Finally, some coordinating Seasonal Sequins are added to the project to give a little bit of bling!

Countdown to Christmas 2022 – Week 10

How is it already week 10 on this year’s Countdown to Christmas series?

Today’s project is the 2nd design from my Crack Your Christmas Cards Class, where everyone makes 16 cards (4 each of 4 designs). I showed you project 1 yesterday.

All of the designs use the Spruced Up Stamp Set and coordinating Dies, along with the Real Red & Garden Green Combo Pack Ribbon and the Seasonal Sequins.

The Stamp Set, Dies and Sequins are on the Last Chance Products list, so grab then while you can as they are only available while stocks last.

Balmy blue stars, covering only one side make a lovely backdrop for the baubles.

The baubles are stamped in Red Red and Garden Green with a topper cut from Crushed Curry using the Dies.

The baubles are then mounted onto circles cut from the Layering Circles Dies, with a sentiment stuck on top..

Coordinating ribbon tails stick out from behind the circles.

Finally, some of the sequins are dotted around to finish the project.

Crack Your Christmas Cards 2022 – Project 1

Rather than Finishing Up Friday, it’s more of a Festive Friday as I’m sharing the first project from my recent Crack Your Christmas Cards 2022 Class.

Crack Your Christmas Cards is my annual Class where the attendees make 16 cards, 4 each of 4 different designs.

The class kit included the Spruced Up Stamp Set and Spruced Up Outline Dies (on the Last Chance Products List). A pack of Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins and a Combo Pack of Real Red & Garden Green Ribbon was also included.

My color combination for the all of the projects across the class was Real Red, Garden Green, Balmy Blue and Crushed Curry. Some projects used all of the colours, others only two or three.

For this project, it’s essentially a version of this previous project. This version uses the smaller tree for the background, with the larger tree stamped and cut out separately.

I like the addition of the stamped stars on the small trees.

A ribbon swoosh sits behind the sentiment and the sequins add a finishing touch.

Countdown to Christmas 2022 – Week 1

It’s the time already. Time for my annual Countdown to Christmas series.

Each week, between now and Christmas, I’ll show you Christmas project.

This first project is a design I’ve used before with different stamp sets. For this version, I’ve used the Spruced Up Stamp Set and Dies Bundle.

My colours are the In Color Parakeet Party with Garden Green and Basic White. These colours give a bright, zingy look.

I stamp my first image with the Spruced Up Stamp Set, under where I want my main focus piece to be, and then the others out from that.

Next, I’ve stamped my main image again tone-on-tone and cut out that and my outline shape with the matching Spruced Up Outlines Dies.

A length of coordinating In Color Baker’s Twines is wrapped around the project.

The tree and outline are then raised up on Mini Dimensionals.

Finally, the sentiment, also from the Spruced Up Stamp Set is stuck across the tree.

This design works well with most images and colours for multiple occasions.

Christmas Card Club 2022 – August

Due to the Bank Holiday, there wasn’t a Card & (Your) Cuppa session last week.

So, I’m sharing the third project from this year’s Christmas Card Club instead.

This project uses a returning item from last year, the Wonderful Snowflakes in the July-December Mini Catalogue.

The colour combination for this month’s project is Tahitian Tide and Orchid Oasis – two new In Colors, plus Basic White.

To create texture for the background, a length of the Metallic Mesh Ribbon is stuck down the centre.

A tag and the hole reinforcer from the Tailor Made Tag Dies are assembled and a piece of coordinating Metallic Woven Ribbon is looped through the hole.

Next, the Snowflake is stuck to the tag, along with a circle shape cut using the Stylish shapes Dies stuck on top.

Sentiment pieces from the Spruced Up Stamp Set are stamped and cut before being stuck across the circle.

The tag is then stuck to the project using Dimensionals.

Finally, some Iridescent Rhinestones are dotted across the project to add some extra Christmas sparkle.

Christmas Card Club 2022 – July

This is the second project from this year’s Christmas Card Club.

Inspiration for this project is taken from page 13 of the July-December Mini Catalogue.

July’s project uses the FREE SAB Gold & Silver 6×6 DSP, plus some of the new In Colors for 2022-2024. Additional colours are Garden Green, Daffodil Delight and Basic White.

Don’t forget that SAB runs until the end of August and items are only available while stocks last.

For this card, all of the die-cut shapes are from the Spruced Up Outlines Dies. The sentiment is from the coordinating Spruced Up Stamp Set. These are available as a Bundle with a discount, so be sure to take advantage of the offer.

Using the piece of SAB DSP, this creates a look of wallpaper. A length of In Color Metallic Ribbon hides the join.

Each outline shape has matching inner pieces. To give the look of wrapping paper, each present has an inner cut from In Color 6×6 DSP.

The tree and presents are then arranged, with the front most one on Dimensionals.

A length of In Color Baker’s Twine creates a ‘bunny ears’ bow off to the side. Check out this video for more details on how to tie this bow.

Finally, a star, with Wink of Stella coating tops the tree, with others across the project.
