An In Color Thank You Using Items Already on my Desk

Do you have a pile of pre-cut items already on your craft desk? Me too!

For this project, I challenged myself to use them.

Using the In Colors of Soft Succulent and Polished Pink, with Very Vanilla, the project came together with items I had already cut or stamped.

The Stitched Greenery Die provides the background, again in Soft Succulent.

A flower from the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set, with the outline stamped in Smoky Slate, provides the main image. This image is then coloured using second generation stamping in the project colours. It is then cut out with the coordinating Penned Flowers Dies.

The flower sits on a shape cut from the Decorative Circle Punch.

Using the Beauty of Friendship Stamp Set the sentiment is stamped onto shapes cut from the Tailor Made Tags Dies. These are offset and poke out from behind the shape.

The flower and Decorative Circle piece are raised up on Dimensionals to create some extra depth.

Finally, some coordinating In Color Opal Rounds complete the project.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – New Sending Dies

At last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa Class, the project used the new Sending Dies from the Annual Catalogue. My project is inspired by page 27.

New Sending Dies. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

I chose Soft Sea Foam, Fresh Freesia and Blushing Bride as my colour combination, teamed with Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

New Sending Dies. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

The Stitched Greenery Die provides the background and has a piece cut out using the Stylish Shapes Dies, also new in the Annual Catalogue.

This sits on top of the Crumb Cake Circle. Leaves and flowers from the Sending Dies are layered behind the sentiment circle, along with a looped piece of Linen Thread. The Artistically Inked Stamp Set provides the sentiment.

There is a coordinating Stamp Set that goes with the Dies, so be sure to take a look at page 14 for details of the discounted bundle.

Finally, the smaller flowers are given a coat of Wink of Stella and stuck to the project using Glue Dots. Polished Dots then provide the flower centres.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Intricate Leaves with a Colour Twist

For last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project, I revisited this previous design.

Last Week's Card & (Your) Cuppa - Intricate Leaves with a Colour Twist. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

I was asked for an autumn project, and also a request for blues, so I combined the two!

This version of the cards is landscape.

My colour combination is Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy and Coastal Cabana, with Very Vanilla.

The Stitched Greenery Die creates the leafy background. This is given a hint of Bermuda Bay using Blending Brushes.

Last Week's Card & (Your) Cuppa - Intricate Leaves with a Colour Twist. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

Next, leaves from the Intricate Leaves Dies from the July-December Mini Catalogue, plus some leaves from the Stitched Leaves Dies are cut out and stuck to the project.

A length of Linen Thread is also looped into a figure of 8 and stuck onto the leaves.

My sentiment is from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set. Some smaller leaves are attached to the back of it. This then creates a layered effect as it is raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, some coordinating Playing with Patterns Resin Dots complete the project.

Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques: Using your leftovers/scraps/‘it didn’t quite work’ pieces

For this week’s Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques video, the topic is all about using your leftovers or those pieces that you started and didn’t quite finish.

Today’s project uses the Brilliant Wings Dies to cut out an ombre piece of cardstock. This is a leftover piece from a previous project I made in another Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques video.

The Stitched Greenery Die makes  a great background for the butterflies to sit on.

Just a sentiment from the Art Gallery Stamp Set is all that is needed to finish the project.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – A Cascade of Purple Pierced Blooms

For last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project, the attendees created a pretty cascade of purple pierced blooms.

Purple Pierced Blooms. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

My colour scheme was the ‘can’t go wrong’ combination of Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. These were combined with Very Vanilla.

For the background, the Stitched Greenery Die made another appearance. It is a really useful die.

Next, it was the turn of the flowers to turn into that cascade of purple.

Most flowers had a touch of Wink of Stella added to them for a bit of sparkle.

I chose to use the Biggest Wish Stamp Set for my sentiment. This was raised up on Dimensionals, with the bow stuck to the corner using a Glue Dot.

Finally, some Pastel Pearls in coordinating colours were added to the center of some of the smaller flowers.

Rich Razzleberry & Soft Succulent Art Gallery Flowers

For today’s project, I’m taking inspiration from Page 13 of the Annual Catalogue.

Rich Razzleberry & Soft Succulent Art Gallery Flowers. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

My colour combination is Rich Razzleberry, Soft Succulent and Very Vanilla. I’m a bit of a fan of this combo.

The background is from the Stitched Greenery Die. I’ve then added some colour using a Blending Brush.

Rich Razzleberry & Soft Succulent Art Gallery Flowers. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

For the flowers, I’ve used the Art Gallery Stamp Set and stamped the image twice. They are then cut them out using the coordinating Floral Gallery Dies.

Some Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack forms a bow around the stem of one of the flowers.

These are added the project using a combination of Mini and regular Dimensionals.

Using the sentiment from the Stamp Set, again cut out with the dies, this has a piece of Soft Succulent Ribbon attached. The whole piece sits across the centre of the flowers.

Finally, some Artistry Blooms Sequins are dotted across the project.

Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Stitched Greenery Die

When I showed my Card & (Your) Cuppa attendees this recent project, they asked if they could make a version.

Stitched Greenery Die. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

Not wishing to disappoint, I recreated it in different colours and orientation, for last week’s class.

My colour combination for this version is Polished Pink, Soft Sea Foam and Basic White, with Gold accents.

The Stitched Greenery Die creates a beautiful pattern that is great for backgrounds.

Stitched Greenery Die. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

Die cut shapes from the Artistic Dies provide the intricate floral outline. Plus the shape for the sentiment and the tiny Polished Pink flowers too. The tiny flowers are given a Wink of Stella coating.

Using a Polished Pink Stampin’ Write Marker, I was able to ink up each word from the Art Gallery Stamp Set sentiment separately to allow it to fit into the shape.

The Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack provide the gold leaves and a swoosh of coordinating In Color Open Weave Ribbon sits behind the sentiment.

Finally, sequins, also from the Ephemera Pack are added to the centre of the tiny flowers.

I really like this design and have a feeling I’ll be using it quite a lot!

Stitched Greenery Meets Artistically Inked

The new Stitched Greenery Die has been sitting in my ‘use me’ pile for a few weeks now.

It was time to have a little play…

Stitched Greenery Meets Artistically Inked. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

My colour combination is Soft Succulent and Rich Razzleberry, with Very Vanilla.

Using the Stitched Greenery Die on Soft Succulent makes a lovely background for my focal flowers.

Stitched Greenery Meets Artistically Inked. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

The main floral outline shape is cut from the Artistic Dies. This sits on the background, before Gold leaves from the Ephemera Pack are added.

Both the Stitched Greenery Dies and the Artistically Inked Bundle are new products in the Annual Catalogue.

Using a Stampin’ Blend, a length of Crinkled Seam Binding is coloured. Stampin’ Up! don’t have Rich Razzleberry Blends, but running the Light Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blend over the ribbon a couple of times made it a very close match.

Stitched Greenery Meets Artistically Inked. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

Finally, the sentiment and flowers from the Bundle are stamped and cut out before being added to the project.

I really like how this project came out. It’s likely a similar project to this will appear at a future Card & (Your) Cuppa Class.
