Countdown to Christmas 2024 – Week 4

The project for week 4 of my Countdown to Christmas 2024 series is one of my go to Christmas Card designs.

For this version, I’ve used Crumb Cake and Blackberry Bliss, with gold accents to coordinate with the ribbon. It also only uses one ink pad with tone-on-tone stamping.

This card isn’t in the more traditional Christmas colours, but has a more rustic feel.

First, I created the background using the Falling Snow Background Stamp Set. As background stamps are larger, only one inking up and stamp is needed to fill the card.

New Textured Ribbon from the Mini Catalogue in Blackberry Bliss and Gold then creates the ribbon across the parcel.

Next, the sentiment is created, this is from the Snowy Wonder Stamp Set and cut out using the Modern Oval Punch. I’ve layered another cut out from the Punch in Blackberry Bliss behind it.

The sentiment is then stuck on with Dimensionals.

Finally, coordinating gold sequins from the Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins are added for a touch of festive bling.

What I really love about this design is how versatile it is. Use any colours, stamps, bling and more for your creation. You can also use strips of DSP for the ribbon and change it to landscape too. The possibilities with this design are endless and it’s why it’s a firm favourite design of mine.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Of Art & Texture Online Exclusive

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project used a Stamp Set from the Online Exclusives range.

I’d been asked for a card suitable for a man, so chose the Of Art & Texture Stamp Set and the All That Dies to create this design.

I also chose a colour combination of the In Colors of Boho Blue and Pebbled Path, along with Misty Moonlight and Very Vanilla.

First, second generation stamping created the background.

Next, the various shapes were cut out and stamped.

The sentiment is from the Softly Said Stamp Set, another product from the Online Exclusives range.

A length of coordinating Boho Blue ribbon is added to the background piece.

Then, the various shapes are stuck to the project, with the banner edges stuck to the sentiment.

The sentiment piece is raised up on Dimensionals to add some extra depth.

Finally, coordinating In Color Dots in Pebbled Path are dotted across the project.

This design is great to recreate in different colours and for any occasion. It also works up very quickly and easily too. Why not make a few and have some in your card stash, ready to send when needed.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Autumn Vibes

Last week’s Card & Cuppa session was my first one back after my break.

Before I went on holiday, I was asked for something autumnal when I returned. So this any occasion card fits the bill.

It uses a colour combination of Copper Clay, Mossy Meadow and Crushed Curry. These are perfect colours to represent the changing colours of the leaves.

To begin, leaves from the Layering Leaves Stamp Set and the Modern Garden Stamp Set are stamped across the Very Vanilla background.

Next, using Blending Brushes, a diagonal strip of Crushed Curry is added down the centre with Mossy Meadow on the outer edges.

Using a Blender Pen, the Copper Clay outline leaves are given a touch of colour. Doing this after adding the colour with the Blending Brushes allows the leaves to be different colours.

The sentiment, also from the Layering Leaves Stamp Set is cut out with the Modern Oval Punch. This is part of a bundle with the Modern Garden Stamp Set in the new Mini Catalogue.

A length of coordinating Textured In Color Ribbon is stuck across the centre, with the sentiment raised above it using Dimensionals.

Finally, some Adhesive-Backed Speckled Dots in Copper Clay, also from the new Mini Catalogue are dotted across the project.

Birthday Card with Gorgeously Made Stamp Set

There wasn’t a Card & Cuppa class last week due to my annual break, so I’m sharing this Birthday Card I made for a friend.

My friend likes Crumb Cake and also purple, so I of course chose Crumb Cake, along with Moody Mauve. These were combined with Very Vanilla.

The Gorgeously Made Stamp Set provided the images. I then used a Blending Brush and Crumb Cake ink to add a more vintage look around the edges.

A length of coordinating In Color Textured Ribbon in Moody Mauve and Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine from the Essentials Pack sit across the centre.

Happy Birthday is from the Circle Sayings Stamp Set and this is punched out and layered. Both circles are cut using the Circle Punches from the Online Exclusives.

As my friend also loves sparkle, I added some Wink of Stella to the berry parts of each stem. I’m not sure that you can see it properly in the pictures.

Finally, some extra bling was added using some Iridescent Pearls.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Abstract in In Color

For last week’s Card & Cuppa I designed an abstract project using the new 2023-2025 In Colors.

A combination of stamps from the Oceanfront Stamp Set, Quiet Meadow Stamp Set and the Inked & Tiled Stamp Set provided the background stamping in the various new colours. The whole project is sits on a Thick Very Vanilla base card.

Next, a length of In Color Textured Ribbon was added, followed by a length of the coordinating Jute Trim. This was split and tied in a knot before being placed on top of the ribbon. Splitting the Jute Trim creates the wavy effect.

Shapes cut from the Stylish Shapes Dies and the Tailor Made Tags Dies were arranged on top of the background, with the large square left until last.

The sentiment is from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set and cut in two before being stuck to the Copper Clay Square. This whole piece is given more depth using Dimensionals.

In Color Dots, also in the same Moody Mauve as the layer, ribbon and twine add the finishing touch.

This is a great design for anyone and particularly handy for those teen or masculine projects. It can be changed to use any colours and shapes too.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Bottled Happiness and Layering Leaves

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project paired the Bottled Happiness and Layering Leaves Stamp Sets.

My earthy colour combination is Copper Clay and Moody Mauve new In Colors, along with Pretty Peacock and Misty Moonlight, plus Very Vanilla.

This combination is great for a neutral project suitable for anyone.

Both of these stamp sets for this design have matching punches, the Vintage Bottle Punch and the Bough Punch. You may remember I forgot to take the Bough Punch to this class several weeks ago, so I decided to remedy that!

To begin, a line is stamped across the background using an image from the Inked & Tiled Stamp Set. As the line isn’t quite long enough to go all the way across, it is stamped twice with the join under the bottles.

Using Go To Greetings, a sentiment is also stamped into the top corner.

Next, the bottles, leaves and flowers are stamped in Copper Clay, Pretty Peacock and Moody Mauve using a mixture of first, second and third generation stamping. The tall bottle, leaves and flowers are then punched out. As the Pretty Peacock shorter bottle doesn’t have a coordinating punch, it is cut out by hand.

A length of the In Color Textured Ribbon, in Copper Clay is stuck across the piece.

The leaves are then arranged to look like they are in the shorter bottle using a combination of glue and glue dots.

This and the tall bottle are then stuck to the project, the tall bottle directly, the other with Dimensionals.

A touch of Wink of Stella is then added to the Moody Mauve flowers. Finally, some Iridescent Rhinestones add some more bling.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Nature’s Prints Meets Boho Blue

At last week’s Card & Cuppa we said hello to another of this year’s new In Colors.

Boho Blue, with Petal Pink and Basic White was my colour combination.

I teamed this with the Nature’s Print Stamp Set and some Circle Punches for a very quick and simple project.

To begin, a sentiment from the Inked & Tiled Stamp Set is stamped in the corner.

Next, a stamped off ‘splat’ background is created in Petal Pink.

Then, the leaf is stamped twice with the ends of the stem meeting in the centre. This bit is hidden a bit later.

A length of the coordinating In Color Textured Ribbon is stuck across the centre.

Two Circles are cut from the punches available in the Online Exclusives. The smaller one then has an image stamped tone-on-tone.

These circles are then stuck together and raised above the ribbon using Dimensionals, hiding the end of the leaf stems.

Finally, some Iridescent Rhiestones add a touch of bling.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Timeless Arrangements Bundle

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project, I used another new Bundle from the Annual Catalogue.

This is the Timeless Arrangements Bundle, consisting of a Stamp Set and coordinating Dies.

I chose Moody Mauve, one of the new In Colors and Fresh Freesia, along with Very Vanilla as my colour combination. I’d been asked for a purple project, so this fit the brief.

Firstly, the background images from the Timeless Arrangements Stamp Set were stamped in the colours.

Next, a length of the coordinating In Color Textured Ribbon was added.

Then, the various flower and leaf sections were cut out using the Timeless Arrangements Dies. The sentiment was stamped and cut out too.

All of the different pieces were then layered behind the sentiment to create a pretty arrangement.

What is great about these die cut shapes is that they are on long pieces and cut out as one, so they were easy to assemble behind the sentiment.

Finally some Iridescent Pearls are added for a touch of sparkle and bling.

There are so many different ways to use this Timeless Arrangements Bundle, I’m looking forward to using it some more.
