June Card Making Class – Project 2

This Thank You card with a vintage feel is the second project from my monthly Card Making class I held at the weekend.

All of the project for June’s session had the theme ‘It’s all new to me!’

This meant all of the projects used products that were new to me from the Annual Catalogue and Online Exclusives range.

For this design, I chose a colour combination of Basic Beige, Pecan Pie, Blackberry Bliss and Fresh Freesia.

All of the images are from the Textured Notes Stamp Set from the Online Exclusives range.

First, the various images were stamped onto the background. The Pecan Pie stamping was second generation to lighten it a touch.

On a separate piece, the circular image was stamped and the sentiment added. This was then punched out, along with a layer using Circle Punches, again from the Online Exclusives range.

A ribbon swoosh using the Gold & Silver Trim was created before the sentiment was added using Dimensionals.

Finally, some Antique Pearls were added to the project as a finishing touch.

I really like this colour combination and think there may be a few more projects using it in my future!

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – A Trio of In Colors

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project used a trio of In Colors to create this pretty Birthday card.

I chose Petunia Pop, Pretty in Pink and Shy Shamrock from the 2024-2026 In Color Collection. These were combined with Basic White.

To begin, a sentiment from the Simply Said Stamp Set was added in Petunia Pop.

Next, a line was masked using a strip of cardstock. ‘Splats’ from the Elements of Text Stamp Set were then stamped in Pretty in Pink on the bottom part of the background. This Stamp Set is in the Online Exclusives range.

The join was concealed with a length of Silver Trim from the Gold & Silver Trim Combo Pack.

A circle was cut using a Circle Punch, also from the Online Exclusives range. This had three stems from the Bee My Valentine Stamp Set added in Shy Shamrock.

Using a Blending Brush, the edge of the punched circles was coloured, alson with strips of cardstock.

Heart shaped petals were cut out from the strips using the Bee Builder Punch, 5 hearts for each flower.

These were assembled using 1 heart for the base and sticking the other 4 petals onto it.

The flowers were then stuck to the stems using Glue Dots.

Tear and Tape was used to attached the circle of flowers to the project.

Finally, a Rhinestone was added to the centre of each flower.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Season of Green & Gold DSP

Last week’s Card & Cuppa session was the final one of the year. We finished with this stripey Christmas card.

You will know that I love stripe projects because of how quick and easy they are to create. They are also great scrap busters too.

This design uses the fabulous Season of Green & Gold DSP from the Online Exclusives range.

The DSP is cut into strips and they are then glued onto a piece of cardstock at an angle. Once dry, any overhanging pieces are cut away.

A sentiment in Mossy Meadow, to coordinate with the colours in the DSP is then stamped. It comes from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set, also from the Online Exclusives range.

Both the sentiment and the backing layer are cut out using Circle Punches.

Finally, a swoosh made from Gold Trim from the Gold & Silver Trim Combo Pack is added, before the sentiment is raised up on Dimensionals.

I’ll now be taking a break over Christmas and New Year, but will be back in January with more projects and classes.

Countdown to Christmas 2024 – Week 12

The final project for my Countdown to Christmas 2024 series reminds me of the poem ‘Twas the night before Christmas’.

It’s the final design from my recent Christmas Card Class.

Our cute mouse is from the Christmas Friends Stamp Set. Greetings of the Season Stamp Set provides the sentiment, and the Snowy Wonder Stamp Set the snow.

First, the sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy.

Next, using Early Espresso, the mouse is stamped and then coloured using Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen.

This circle is layered onto a Night of Navy circle. these are cut out with Circle Punches from the Online Exclusives range.

Small strips of Balmy Blue ink are then stamped tone on tone with the snow to create a background.

Finally, a swoosh of Silver Trim is added before the mouse is attached using Dimensionals.

Countdown to Christmas 2024 – Week 11

We’ve reached week 11, the penultimate week of my Countdown to Christmas 2024 series.

This project is one of the 4 designs from my recent Christmas Card Making Day.

It uses the snowflakes, sentiment and star shape from the Sweetest Star Stamp Set and Punch Bundle, along with the branch from the Christmas Friends Stamp Set.

All of these items are from the Mini Catalogue. Most of these products are now on the Last Chance Products list at my Online Store.

Using Crumb Cake and Old Olive, the background images were stamped.

Next, the star was cut out of Poppy Parade cardstock and the sentiment was then stamped onto it in Cherry Cobbler.

A length of Gold Trim from the Gold & Silver Trim Combo Pack was looped at the top of the star to look like a tree decoration.

Finally, the star was attached to the project using Dimensionals.

Countdown to Christmas 2024 – Week 10

With only a few week’s left of my Countdown to Christmas 2024 series, week 10 is this cute snowman.

This project is from the Christmas Card Making Day I held last weekend.

The Snowy Wonder Stamp Set provides the images and sentiment. My colour combination is Pebbled Path and Balmy Blue, with Pool Party, Gorgeous Grape and Berry Burst snowflakes.

A Stampin’ Write Marker in Pumpkin Pie colours the carrot nose and a Pool Party Stampin’ Blend helps to bring the snowman to life a bit more.

Our snowman sits on a shape cut out using the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch from the Online Exclusives range.

Silver Trim from the Gold & Silver Trim Combo Pack creates a swoosh and the snowman is raised up over it using Dimensionals. More Dimensionals are then used to raise up the sentiment too.

As each attendee made four of each design during the class, this project needed to be quick and easy.

It’s a great design for batch-making as you could stamp snowflakes all over a piece of A4 and then cut it to make your background.

Countdown to Christmas 2024 – Week 9

We’ve reached week 9 of my Countdown to Christmas 2024 series.

Today’s project is a one of four cards attendees are making later at my Christmas Card Making Day.

During the class, they will make 16 cards, 4 each of 4 designs.

For this quick and easy project, the tree and present from the Snowy Wonder Stamp Set are stamped multiple times in Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade.

The stars are from the Christmas Everywhere Kit and stamped in Daffodil Delight.

Season’s Greetings, also from the Snowy Wonder Stamp Set is stamped in Basic Gray. It’s stamped onto a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock cut out using the Modern Oval Punch.

Two lengths from the Gold and Silver Trim Combo Pack are added to the back of the sentiment. It is then raised up using Dimensionals.

For this class, the projects need to be quick and simple, but you could always add extra embellishments and more to step up your own version.

Countdown to Christmas 2024 – Week 3

Week 3 of my Countdown to Christmas 2024 series uses a new Bundle from the current Mini Catalogue.

This is the Christmas Friends Stamp Set and Dies Bundle. The polar bear is just one of the four friends you’ll find in the set.

First, a snowy scene was created using the Falling Snow Stamp Stamp, also from the Mini Catalogue. This large background stamp is stamped in Balmy Blue.

The polar bear and sentiment are stamped in Gray Granite. These are cut out using the dies, along with the Basic Beige circle, Garden Green and Old Olive greenery and a Real Red bow.

Onto the circle, the images are stamped in Garden Green, with a little bit of additional shading added using a Blending Brush.

Colouring of the polar bear is with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen.

A length of Trim is then added across the project before all of the pieces are attached, with the polar bear and sentiment raised up using Dimensionals.

Countdown to Christmas 2024 – Week 2

This week’s Countdown to Christmas 2024 project is a very quick and simple design.

You may notice that the design is very similar to last week’s project.

At this time of year, we want to be creating pretty projects that don’t take long to make. This one definitely fits the bill!

By using the Season of Green & Gold Specialty DSP from the Online Exclusives range, a lot of the hard work is already done for you.

Cut a piece to size and layer that onto a piece of cardstock that coordinates with the DSP. In my case I used Garden Green.

Then, using the stamps from the Christmas Everywhere Kit, the ‘Merry Christmas’ sentiment was stamped in Garden Green. They were layered onto circles cut out with Circle Punches, also from the Online Exclusives range.

Don’t forget that kits are on special offer this month during the Kits Sale.

A length of gold from the Gold & Silver Trim Combo pack creates a swoosh for the sentiment to sit on. I’ve raised the sentiment on Dimensionals over the Trim.

You can create 6 of these cards from one sheet of the 12″x12″ DSP. That’s 72 cards in total if you use all 12 sheets! Plus, the cards are quick and easy to make so you can create a lot in a short space of time.

Countdown to Christmas 2024 – Week 1

Yes, it’s that time of year already. It’s time for my Annual Countdown to Christmas series.

Every Saturday, from now until Christmas, I’ll be sharing a Christmas project. They will be projects you can either copy or use as inspiration for your own festive crafting.

To start the ball rolling, Countdown to Christmas 2024 – Week 1 is this Christmas Card.

The first thing you will notice is that it’s not in traditional reds and greens. It’s black and white to coordinate with the penguins.

It’s also a great project for batch making and one that children can join in with too.

With Basic Black and Basic White cardstock, a Tuxedo Black inkpad, the Choose Happy Stamp Set, something to colour in the stars, beaks and feet (I used Stampin’ Blends), a sentiment, a shape for the sentiment, ribbon and adhesive, you’ll be able to make a lot of these in no time at all.

All of the items I used to create this design are listed at the bottom of the page.

To begin, the penguin and star images from the Choose Happy Stamp Set are stamped across the background. You can also stamp a whole sheet of cardstock and then cut them up to create 4 cards for a quicker process.

Then, I’ve coloured the stars with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend and the beaks and feet with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend.

For the sentiment, I used the ‘happy’ from the Stamp Set and ‘Christmas’ from the new Online Exclusives Greetings of the Season Stamp Set. You can, however, use any sentiment you like.

These are cut out and layered using the Circle Punches, also from the Online Exclusives range.

Another item from the Online Exclusives range, the Gold Trim creates a swoosh for the sentiment to sit on.

I’ve added a little touch of extra sparkle to the stars using Wink of Stella.
