Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Go To Greetings

For last week’s Card & Cuppa project, we had reached ‘G’.

The Go To Greetings Stamp Set was the product of choice with this design. I’ve had this idea in my head for this stamp set for a while.

My colour combination was a autumnal one of Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze. I also wanted this project to have a more masculine feel.

Using each of the different versions of the same sentiment, the background was created.

Next, the required sentiment was stamped onto a separate sheet.

Some of the Glitter Washi Tape in coordinating Old Olive was popped behind. This product is on the Last Chance Products list as it is retiring from the July-December Mini Catalogue, so make sure you grab it while you can.

Finally, the sentiment was stuck on top and the overhanging pieces were cut away.

There are some other sentiments in this stamp set that also work with this design. It’s a quick and easy project to make and can be recreated using different colours, sentiments and embellishments.

Punch Art Pumpkin

As there wasn’t a Card & Cuppa class last week, I’m sharing this fun Halloween project instead.

As I don’t have any Halloween products, I have made my own pumpkin.

My colours are obviously Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black and Old Olive with Basic White.

I began by stamping the ‘boo’ in the corner using the Alphabest Stamp Set and Tuxedo Ink.

Next, I used three of the colours from the Glitter Washi Tape pack from the July-December Mini Catalogue. These colours coordinate with my project colours.

If you know me, you’ll be aware that I don’t like glitter, so this Glitter Washi Tape was a good compromise for me.

Next, it was the turn of the pumpkin. This was made by cutting 5 ovals from the Double Oval Punch.

They were then given some extra definition with a Sponge Dauber before being stuck together. The stalk and leaf are from the Cherry Builder Punch.

Using Dimensionals, the pumpkin is raised up.

Finally, as I wanted some sparkly gems to coordinate with the Washi Tape, I coloured some Rhinestones with a Basic Black Stampin’ Blend and stuck these to the project.

I think this is a great project to make with children, but it is also a bit more grown up too!

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Bright Birthday Balloons

For last week’s Card & Cuppa classes I decided to create these bright Birthday balloons.

It uses the fabulous Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set and matching Balloon Bouquet Punch.

The card is based on this project I made previously.

Strips of Washi Tape create the background with the swirls then stamped. The project uses Mango Melody, Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight from the Brights collection. All of the stamping is in Mango Melody.

I found the most difficult part of this project was deciding how to arrange the balloons.

As the stamping uses only one inkpad, this design can be created in lots of different colours.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp Set

Pineapple Punch for a Sweet Sixteen

November and December are busy months for Birthdays in my house. This is a card I made for my Niece who has just turned sweet sixteen.

I’ve taken my inspiration from Page 73 of the Annual Catalogue.

As it’s a busy time of year for me both at work and home, my crafting mojo tends to leave me. Therefore, having the Annual Catalogue packed full of ideas is a great help.

Images from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set along with the In Color Collection for 2018-2020 are the main features. The outline stamping uses the Memento Ink Pad.

Washi Tape strips behind the ‘celebrate’ make the colours pop. There is a lot of fussy cutting on this project, but it’s worth taking the time to do it well before building the layers.

We don’t have black Rhinestones, so I’ve coloured the Basic Rhinestones using a Stampin’ Blend Marker. It’s great that you can tailor your bling to any colour of Stampin’ Blends you like.

Simple Monochrome

Everyone needs a quick and easy card in their repertoire that they can re-create for a number of different occasions. This quick and simple monochrome notecard is a great example.

This one uses Washi Tape to create the fun striped pattern. I’ve made similar projects in the past using other Washi Tape and Designer Series Paper too.

The Whisper White Notecard and Basic Black layer mirror the monochrome Washi Tape.

Just follow the pattern of the first piece and add each strip one at a time.

I’ve added a bow at the bottom using Baker’s Twine. Instead of a bow, why not tie a knot or add a piece of co-ordinationg ribbon.

A sentiment from the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set in co-ordinating Basic Black is the perfect way to start your message. It’s just waiting for you to add your special words inside.

These are great to have on standby and you can keep the simple monochrome effect by using a colour with black, white or vanilla. Just add a relevant sentiment, write your message and it’s ready to pop in the post.

If you’ve got someone who loves to send handwritten notes, why not make a batch of these. They look great in a pretty box or tied with a piece of ribbon.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Swirly Bird in Sweet Sugarplum and Pool Party

For last week’s Card & Cuppa I designed this Birthday card.

Swirly Bird Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! Card & Cuppa Class project with HIPPOFROG Designs

It uses the fabulous Swirly Bird Stamp Set and a sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous, both from the Annual Catalogue.

I’ve teamed Sweet Sugarplum with Pool Party for a fresh modern feel, with Powder Pink as the accent colour.

There are lots of layers and textures on this card. Strips made from Washi Tape, Ribbon and Baker’s Twine all add to the modern twist. A few rhinestones add a touch of bling.

As it’s Bank Holiday, we aren’t meeting today, but there is class on Thursday if you’d like to join us. We’re then back to normal next week.

Berry Burst and Basic Black Birthday

Here’s a Berry Burst and Basic Black Birthday card (bit of a tongue twister) I made for my Niece. March is a little busy for Birthdays in our family, so I make quite a lot at this time of year.

I’ve used various DSP to create the card. Strips of Petal Passion DSP for the bottom section and a piece of Colorful Theory DSP for the bow.

A thin strip of cardstock with some Washi Tape across the centre adds to the different layers.

The fun Happy Birthday sentiment from the SAB Party Pandas Set in co-ordinating Berry Burst makes this a bright and modern card.

It wouldn’t be a card for a teenage girl if it didn’t have some bling, so Rhinestones are the finishing touch.

Saying Hello – Lots of Lavender

I hope you’ve had a fabulous Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year.

My December has been extremely busy helping with a local pantomime (oh yes it has!) that I’ve not had time to post things here. As the pantomime finishes on New Year’s Day, I’ll hopefully be back to ‘normal’ a few days after that.

This will be perfect timing as New Year for Stampin’ Up! means a BRAND NEW Spring/Summer Catalogue and the annual Sale-a-Bration (SAB) offering.

I’m not allowed to show you online versions of the catalogues until they launch, but, I CAN show you projects using products from the new catalogues.

So here’s the first sneak peek…

Stampin' Up! SAB 2018 Lots of Lavender

It’s the Birthday card I made for my Niece who is now no longer a teenager. As her Birthday is close to Christmas, I used the new SAB Lots of Lavender Stamp Set and bright colours.

The Stamp Set has a lovely lavender image I stamped in Basic Gray, it then uses fill-in stamps to colour the lavender, leaves and bow really quickly.

I’ve used Wisteria Wonder and Wild Wasabi and stamped them off beforehand to soften the images.

For a contrast and to brighten the project, I chose Berry Burst and used Cardstock, Washi Tape and Ribbon. A touch of Wink of Stella added a little bit of sparkle to the lavender flowers.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Washi Tape Baubles

For our final three Card & Cuppa sessions of the year we are making Christmas cards.

Stampin' Up! Washi Tape Baubles with HIPPOFROG Designs

The first project was this Washi Tape Bauble card.

A fun way of using Washi Tape and Circle Punches to make gorgeous Christmas baubles.

We used the ‘splat’ stamp from Swirly Bird stamped in White to create a beautiful snow effect on the Crumb Cake layer.

Linen Thread strands and bows on the smaller baubles and a Copper Trim bow on the larger sparkly bauble finish this pretty project.

If you don’t have Washi Tape, you could use thin strips of DSP instead. It’s a really economical project as it doesn’t use a lot of Washi or DSP.

Oh, Hello Friend

I haven’t seen a friend for a while so wanted them to know that I was thinking of them.

As this friend is a BIG fan of pink (the complete opposite of me!), I entered a strange pink-tastic world.

Stampin' Up! Oh So Eclectic with HIPPOFROG Designs

I used the Oh So Eclectic Stamp Set and Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies Bundle for the stamping and leaves.

Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo and Powder Pink were the pinks I chose to use. Washi Tape Basics Pack 1 also made an appearance for the pink stripes.

The Oh, Hello Friend sentiment over a small banner of Powder Pink Ribbon completed the very pink look.

For a bit of sparkle, a cluster of Rhinestones in the centre of the flower was the finishing touch.
