This week’s Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques isn’t a video, instead I’m sharing a tip about looking at both sides of your DSP.
My project today uses the FREE SAB Penguin Playmates DSP. It’s available until the end of September while stocks last.
This paper coordinates with the new Penguin Place Bundle from the July-December Mini Catalogue.
The Penguin Place Stamp Set provides the sentiment for the card.
I’ve taken my colour combination from the DSP, using Soft Sea Foam, Fresh Freesia and Basic White.
If you look at the pack of DSP, each piece has pictures of Penguins, Polar Bears and Foxes in winter hats and scarves – perfect for those Christmas Cards.
You might be someone who really loves the images. But, you might be someone who flicks past as it isn’t something you like.
My top tip is to always look at the other side of the DSP.
This card uses the other side of the Penguin Playmates DSP and most of the pieces have a pattern suitable for everyday projects.
Looking at today’s project, you wouldn’t think it it had winter scenes on the other side!
I’ve made one of my stripe projects with strips of the DSP laying at an angle. Another thin strip of the DSP sits over the top where each piece was cut.
Over the top of this is a length of the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. This is topped with a Dior/flat bow.
Finally, some In Color Jewels in Fresh Freesia add a little touch of sparkle to complete the project.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques post. Pop back next week for the next one.
