A very special gentleman turned 90 a few days ago. Here is the card I made for them.
My colour combination is Garden Green, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry and Basic White.
It uses the Mountain Air Stamp Set from the Annual Catalogue with Garden Green Ink for the main stamping.
By using the different images from the Stamp Set and one colour, I was able to layer them to create depth. Starting with the mountains in the background and finishing with the foreground trees.
A few birds were then added to the sky.
Using a Stampin’ Blend, a length of Crinkled Seam Binding is coloured to match the Crumb Cake layer before being tied in a knot and added to the project.
Stamping tone-on-tone with Crushed Curry creates the sun. The ’90’ comes from the Alphabest Stamp Set. After some fussy cutting, it is stuck to the card using Dimensionals.
Finally, a few Brushed Metallic Dots are added.
Without using different generations of stamping or stamping off, the colours have a ligher and darker feel due to the way I layered the images. I really like the effect that using the one colour with the Mountain Air Stamp Set creates here.
