Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Revisiting Eastern Beauty

For last week’s Card & Cuppa I chose to use a Stamp Set that we hadn’t used for a very long time.

As we were revisiting Eastern Beauty, I also revisited a similar project I’d made previously too.

Card & Cuppa Project with Karen Young from HIPPOFROG Designs. Using Eastern Beauty from Stampin' Up!

I changed the colours slightly using Berry Burst, Powder Pink and Pool Party and set the project as portrait.

A long length of Metallic Thread is sits behind a punched circle and then onto some ribbon. The focal flower is cut out by hand and embellished with a faceted gem.

Here is a close-up of the flower.

Using a Sponge Dauber, the edges of the project have been coloured, along with the flower too.

Although I’ve left my project sentiment free, I took the Stamp Set along with me. The attendees then had a choice of adding a sentiment if they wanted to.

If you’d like to join us at a future Card & Cuppa session then make sure you book your place by 18:00 the day before.

Don’t forget to take advantage of the Retiring List and grab those favourite items while you still can.

In Color – Eastern Palace Suite

Today I’m sharing another card we made at the In Color Introduction class.

This one is for Berry Burst and uses the Eastern Palace Suite.

Again, I designed using a colour combination suggested by Stampin’ Up!  This uses Berry Burst, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie to create a bright look.

Firstly, we stamped the beautiful curved sentiment and the circle to frame the flower.  Then, we stamped the other circles in a random pattern around those images.

Next, a strip of Berry Burst Ribbon and a pop-up flower cut with the Eastern Medallions Thinlits were added.

Finally, a small circle of Bermuda Bay and a Clear Faceted Gem in the centre of the flower complete the project.

Don’t forget that the Bonus Days offer is running this month.  For every £45 spend this month, you’ll recieve a £4.50 voucher to spend next month.

There’s a great promotion for those thinking about joining Stampin’ Up! too.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Eastern Beauty Take 2

The previous Card & Cuppa saw us using the early release Eastern Beauty Bundle to create this masculine card.

For last week’s class I decided to make another card using this stamp set, but with a more feminine feel.

Stampin' Up! Eastern Palace Suite

It uses a selection of the other images in the set to create the background.

As I don’t take a Big Shot to Card & Cuppa sessions, I’d cut the shapes with the co-ordinating Eastern Medallions Thinlits beforehand.  With the stamps being Photopolymer it was easy to line the image up over the top of the cut shape.

The combination of Smoky Slate, Soft Sky and Real Red teamed with Whisper White creates a fresh look.

We’ve curled the edges of the pre-cut shape and added a strip of 1/8″ Silver Ribbon. Finally, we added the layered circles and sentiment.

This is a really quick and easy card to produce. It’s a great ‘go to’ project as you can change the colours or sentiment to suit the recipient or occasion.

You could also make a batch of these by stamping all over a sheet of A4 and then cutting into 4 to create the background.

The Bundle is only available until the end of May so make sure you order yours now.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Eastern Beauty

At a recent Card & Cuppa session I was asked if we could make a man’s card.

So, with Father’s Day coming soon, here is last week’s project:

Eastern Palace Card & Cuppa

You’ll find these circular stamps in the new Eastern Beauty Stamp Set.  This stamp set is part of the Eastern Palace early release Bundles that are only available throughout May.

The key to this project is ensuring that you position the circle around the sentiment first.  Then the rest is up to you.  You could stamp randomly or in a more organised pattern.

To make the rosette tails, we’ve used the Duet Banner Punch and cut the shape in half.

I used Pacific Point, Chocolate Chip and Real Red, but a softer colour palette would completely change the look for a different recipient.

Saying Hello – Eastern Palace

For lots of reasons I’ve only just got around to using the items in this month’s fabulous Eastern Palace Bundles.  Now I just can’t put them down!

Here are just three of the projects I’ve made so far:

Eastern Palace Suite Stampin' Up! UK

Eastern Palace Suite Stampin' Up! UK

Eastern Palace Suite Stampin' Up! UK

As you can see, the images are really versatile and layer to create stunning designs.  Add in the co-ordinating Thinlits and you’ve got even more fabulous geometric shapes that complement each other perfectly.

They also co-ordinate with the Circle Punches, Layering Circles Framlelits and Stitched Shapes Framelits so the possibilities are going to be endless with this suite.

An added feature of this suite is the vinyl stickers.  They co-ordinate with both the stamp set and dies, but can work on their own too.

New In Colors are part of these bundles, but my colour palette is Pear Pizzazz, Dapper Denim and Whisper White, with gold embellishments.  This is because I’ll be sharing the In Colors with you in detail very soon.

This is just one of the new suites in the upcoming Annual Catalogue.  To get your hands on a new Catalogue just contact me with your UK address.  I’ll be popping them in the post in the next few weeks.

If you haven’t already ordered one of the Eastern Palace bundles then I’d encourage you to do so.  Don’t forget that the bundles are only available during May so don’t miss out.
