Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Untouched Landscapes

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project was this picturesque landscape collage.

It used the Untouched Landscapes Stamp Set and is inspired by a project from the most recent Catalogue.

I previously taught this project using this Stamp Set previously, but this design has a lot of fussy cutting!

My colour combination is a mix of Crisp Cantaloupe, Barely Blush and Golden Glow from the new In Colors, with Old Olive, Garden Green and Balmy Blue, alongside Basic White.

Each section is stamped onto a separate piece of cardstock. Most are tone on tone apart from the Barely Blush and Basic White pieces.

For the Barely Blush section, the image was turned upside down to create a slightly different look to the mountains above.

Every piece is then cut along the top edge. The flowers at the bottom are then coloured with Stampin’ Blends and the leaves with a Blender Pen.

Using a Blending Brush, the section at the top becomes the sky.

Each piece is then carefully layered to create the scene, before cutting off the excess from the edges.

Finally, a sentiment from the Safari Smiles Stamp Set is raised up on Mini Dimensionals.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Terrific Toadstools Stamp Set & Punch

At last week’s Card & Cuppa class, I chose to create a monochromatic-style project.

I like creating designs that are in shades of the same colour, in this case, blue.

My colour combination was Azure Afternoon, Blueberry Bushel, Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy. These colours are next to each other on the Colour Coach, a great tool available from Stampin’ Up!

First, the background was given a touch of colour using a Blending Brush and Azure Afternoon ink. This was in the area behind where the toadstools would sit.

Next, the toadstools and stalks from the Terrific Toadstools Stamp Set were stamped onto a separate piece. They were then cut out using a combination of fussy cutting and the Terrific Toadstools Builder Punch.

A sentiment from the Blooming Phrases Stamp Set, from the Online Exclusives range was then stamped onto a long strip.

This was stuck to an Azure Afternoon strip across the project.

The toadstools were all assembled and the three larger ones were stuck to the project using a Dimensional at the head end and glue at the base. Glue Dots were then used to attach the smaller two.

Finally, three Iridescent Pearls were coloured in a Stampin’ Blend and stuck to the project.

August Card Making Class – Project 1

At the weekend, I held my monthly Card Making Class. The theme for August was Fabulous Florals.

The first project is this pretty Birthday Card.

My colour combination was Flirty Flamingo, Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Basic White.

A brick background was created using the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder. This was then given some colour using a Blending Brush and Cajun Craze Ink.

Next, flowers and leaves from the Bee My Valentine Stamp Set were stamped, with the flowers a mix of first and second generation stamping to create some variety. Fussy cutting was then needed.

A length of Woven Ribbon, currently on the Last Chance Products list was then coloured using a Stampin’ Blend.

It sits across the centre.

The sentiment from the Loveliest Tree Stamp Set was stamped and cut out usnig a Circle Punch from the Online Exclusives range.

Flowers and leaves were then stuck around the edge of the sentiment before being stuck over the ribbon.

Finally, a small Rhinestone was stuck to the centre of each flower.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Introducing Strawberry Slush

Last week’s Card & Cuppa class continued our introduction to the new In Colors. This design is introducing Strawberry Slush.

I have teamed Strawberry Slush with the In Color from last week, Secret Sea, and one of last year’s In Colors, Pretty in Pink. They are joined by Basic White.

This colour combination works really well together.

Using the Spotlight on Nature Stamp Set, the larger leaves were stamped. They were coloured with a Blender Pen before the smaller leaves from the Textured Notes Stamp Set were also added to the background.

On a separate piece, the butterfly, again from the Spotlight on Nature Stamp Set and the sentiment, from the Tags of Thank Stamp Set, were stamped in Strawberry Slush.

The sentiment was cut out and layered using Circle Punches. For the butterfly, fussy cutting was needed.

All of the stamp sets and punches used on this project are from the Online Exclusives range.

Using Stampin’ Blends, the butterfly was coloured and some Wink of Stella wa then added to the wings.

A length of White Woven Ribbon was coloured with Stampin’ Blends and added across the centre.

The butterfly was attached to the sentiment and the whole piece was then added to the project using Dimensionals.

Finally, some coordinating Strawberry Slush gems from the Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink Gems were added. These gems and the Woven Ribbon are also from the Online Exclusives range.

For information, the picture below shows how Strawberry Slush compares to other colours in the current Stampin’ Up! range.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Introducing Secret Sea

At last week’s Card & Cuppa class, we continued our theme of introducing the new In Colors for 2025-2027. This time, I was introducing Secret Sea.

I decided to make a more neutral project, so combined Secret Sea with Balmy Blue, Blueberry Bushel and Basic White.

The Elements of Text Stamp Set from the Online Exclusives Range provides the splats for the background. This stamping covers one side of the project, leaving some white space on the other side.

Leaves from the Terrific Toadstools Stamp Set are stamped onto a separate piece and then a bit of fussy cutting was needed.

A sentiment from the Simply Said Stamp Set is stamped onto a shape cut out using the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch.

Using a Stampin’ Blend in Secret Sea, a length of Woven Ribbon was coloured before being added across the centre.

The leaves are stuck to the sentiment and this piece is then raised up over the ribbon.

Finally some coordinating Flat Pearls were added.

For information, the picture below shows how Secret Sea compares to other colours in the current Stampin’ Up! range.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Setting Sail

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project was this great sailing project.

It used Daffodil Delight, Azure Afternoon and Misty Moonlight as the main colours.

First, the sentiment from the Tags of Thanks Stamp Set from the Online Exclusives range was stamped in the bottom corner.

Using ‘for you’ makes this a really good any occasion card, suitable for anyone.

Then, from the Choose Happy Stamp Set the sun was stamped with the boat onto a separate piece of cardstock.

These were both coloured with Stampin’ Blends. The sun with Daffodil Delight and the boat with Pecan Pie, Poppy Parade and Balmy Blue.

Fussy cutting was then needed to cut out the boat.

Next, a wave shape was cut out from a separate piece, and with a Blending Brush the sea was created.

To give the illusion of different depths, it was made in layers. The top wave first, then the bottom, then the middle wave. To finish the sea, the Blending Brush was then used to colour in any missed sections.

Finally, the boat was attached using Mini Dimensionals.

This is a really deceptive project, as it’s quick and easy to create. You could also change the design by using different colours for the boat and another sentiment.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Terrific Toadstools Bundle

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project followed the ‘It’s all new to me!’ theme from this month’s Card Making Class.

For this project, I used the Terrific Toadstools Bundle. I’d looked at it for a while, and when I saw it was transferring over to the new Annual Catalogue it jumped into my basket!

I chose a bright and cheery colour combination with Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade caps and Lemon Lime Twist grass. Balmy Blue added some colour for the sky and Crumb Cake for the stalks and sentiment. Everything was set on a Basic White background.

First, the sentiment from the Terrific Toadstools Stamp Set was stamped.

Next, a hint of blue sky was created using a Blending Brush.

Then, the grass and different parts of the toadstools were stamped.

The two smaller stalks and all of the caps were cut out using the coordinating Terrific Toadstools Builder Punch. Fussy cutting was needed for the grass and large stalk.

All of the toadstools were then assembled and the scene was created with the smaller toadstools attached first. The grass section were added next, with the overhang cut away from the edges.

Finally, the centre toadstool was added using Dimensionals.

I think I’m definitely going to be creating more projects with this Terrific Toadstools Bundle.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – A Leafy Celebration

For last week’s Card & Cuppa class, I chose to design a more neutral project.

This project used the Natural Botanicals Stamp Set for the leaves and the Beautiful Butterflies Stamp Set for the sentiment.

As I wanted this to be a more neutral project, suitable for anyone, I used a combination of Old Olive and Basic White.

First, the larger leaves were stamped onto the backround with the stems towards the centre. These would be covered later.

Next, three smaller leaves were then stamped onto a separate piece.

All of the leaves were coloured with Watercolor Pencils, using both packs 1 and 2.

Each of the smaller leaves were then cut out (fussy cutting) and stuck behind the large Old Olive strip across the centre. Only the stem of the leaves were stuck to allow for a more 3D effect. Overhanging edges of the strip were cut away. This piece covered the stems from earlier.

Finally, the sentiment was stamped onto a Basic White Strip and added to the top of the Old Olive piece, again with the overhang cut away.

I think this project would look great in other colour ways, blues, browns, purples etc. Which colours would you choose?

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Planted Paradise Stamp Set

Last week’s Card & Cuppa design was another fussy cutting project, just not as much as the previous week!

My colour combination was Fresh Freesia, Moody Mauve, Lost Lagoon and Calypso Coral.

The sentiment from the Simply Said Stamp Set was stamped directly onto the background piece, along with the butterflies from the Planted Paradise Stamp Set.

All of the leaves and the pot from the Planted Paradise Stamp Set were stamped onto a separate piece of cardstock and then cut out. The stamping was a mix of first and second generation.

Once everything had been out, the leaves were layered and the pot attached. Due to the thickness of all of the leaves, the top of the pot was stuck directly to the project, with the bottom stuck with Dimensionals.

Finally, additional butterflies were stamped and cut out before being stuck on top of the stamped butterflies. Their wings were folded and glue applied to just the central body section to create a 3D effect.
