More Stars for Another Teenage Birthday

I recently shared this card I made for a teenage Birthday.

As I need to make cards for several Birthdays around this time, here is another version of the project for another teenage Birthday.

It uses the same basic design, with a few tweaks.

My colour combination is Granny Apple Green, Smoky Slate, Pacific Point and Basic White.

As with the previous project, the background is stamped using the Gorgeous Leaves Stamp Set. Don’t forget that this Stamp Set is on the Last Chance Products list. Grab it while you can!

Using the Starlit Punch and cardstock in all of the colours, several stars are cut out and scattered across the project.

Finally, a sentiment from the Art Gallery Stamp Set, cut out using the Tasteful Labels Dies is raised up on Dimensionals.

Stylish Stars for a Teenage Birthday

This Birthday card was one I recently made for a teenager.

We all know that making cards for teenagers can be tricky, so I decided to create a project with some stylish stars.

I started with my colour scheme of Smoky Slate, Pacific Point and Poppy Parade, with Basic White.

For the background, I’ve used the splatter images from the Gorgeous Leaves Stamp Set in the three colours.

The stars are from the Starlit Punch and are scattered across the project.

A sentiment from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set is cut out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies and raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, a couple of the smaller punched stars sit on the sentiment.

This design is great as the colours can be switched out to reflect favourite colours, or sports team etc.

Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques: Using Sponge Daubers

For this week’s Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques video, I’m sharing tips on using Sponge Daubers.

If you’re wondering why the toadstools have made an appearance in this project, it’s because it was National Mushroom Appreciation Day earlier this week!

They, and the leaf are from the Iconic Dies in the Annual Catalogue.

My colour combination is Pear Pizzazz, Real Read and Crumb Cake, with Basic White.

The tops of the toadstools are coloured with a Sponge Dauber, and the leaf is given extra depth too.

Using the Gorgeous Leaves Stamp Set to create the background splats, the edges are then softened with some more green, again using a Sponge Dauber.

A piece of Crumb Cake is cut using the Layering Circles Dies and then embossed with the Bark Embossing Folder to give some extra texture.

These all sit over several lengths of coordinating Baker’s Twine from the Essentials Pack.

For this week’s Top Tips, Tricks & Techniques video, I’m sharing how to tie multiple loop bows.

Today’s project uses the Gorgeous Leaves Stamp Set and Dies Bundle from the July-December Mini Catalogue. It is the final bonus card from September’s SSOTM Online Class.

This class also incorporated my annual Mostly Men class, so the projects have a more masculine feel.

My colour combination is Bumblebee, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Soft Suede, with Basic White.

After stamping the background, two shapes are cut from the Tasteful Labels Dies. The Basic White shape is stamped with the bark image from the Stamp Set and these are layered together.

A few lengths of Linen Thread are then stuck to the project.

Leaves and branches, cut from the Intricates Leaves Dies are added to the layered shape, with a triple-loop bow from today’s video stuck on with a glue dot.

Then, the project is finished with a few Matte Decorative Dots. These were my colour inspiration for the class projects.

SSOTM with Gorgeous Leaves – Project 5

This is the first of the bonus projects from my recent SSOTM Gorgeous Leaves Class.

Along with the class colours of Bumblebee, Cherry Cobbler, Evening Evergreen and Old Olive, the bonus projects also add Soft Suede.

Using Soft Suede, the bark image from the Gorgeous Leaves Stamp Set creates the background.

Next, a length of Evening Evergreen Chevron Weave Ribbon, plus a length of the class kit Linen Thread are looped around the project.

A sentiment from the Biggest Wish Stamp Set sits on a circle cut using the Layering Circles Dies. Falling leaves are stamped at the top and bottom.

Then, various leaves are cut using the Intricate Leaves Dies, along with a few branch shapes too.

These shapes are then layered, some directly onto the background, others to the back of the sentiment.

To add depth, the sentiment, with the attached shapes is then raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, some of the coordinating Class Kit Matte Decorative Dots are added.

SSOTM with Gorgeous Leaves – Project 4

This is the final project the attendees made at my recent SSOTM Gorgeous Leaves Class.

My inspiration for this is taken from Page 47 of the current Mini Catalogue.

As with the other projects from the Class, the colour combination is Evening Evergreen, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Bumblebee.

These colours are taken from the Matte Decorative Dots that were included in the Class Kits.

This class was also my annual Mostly Men Class, so all of the projects have a more masculine feel.

After stamping the splat images to create a swoosh across the page, falling leaves are then stamped for an autumnal touch.

Next the three large leaves atre stamped and cut out using the Gorgeous Leaves Stamp Set and Intricate Dies Bundle.

The leaves are tied together at the top using a length of Linen Thread, again from the Class Kits.

These are then stuck to the project using Dimensionals to raise them up.

A sentiment from the Welcoming Woods Stamp Set is then added.

Finally, the tiny Matte Decorative Dots complete the project.

SSOTM with Gorgeous Leaves – Project 3

For the third project from my recent Stamp Set of the Month (SSOTM) Gorgeous Leaves class, I couldn’t resist a diagonal design!

It’s a design I’ve created several times before in different guises.

Again, the colours are Evening Evergreen, Old Olive, Bumblebee and Old Olive, teamed with Basic White.

First, the fabulous splat images are stamped onto the background.

Next, I drew a line where the edges of the Basic White sentiment strip would sit. This gave me an idea of where I needed to stamp my leaves.

Once my leaves were stamped, I cut out some of the smaller intricate leaves to add another layer of texture. These are stuck down using my pencil line as a guide.

A background strip of Old Olive is then added, along with the sentiment from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set.

Lengths of Linen Thread from the Class Kits then sit along the edges of the Basic White sentiment piece.

Finally, some Mattte Decorative Dots are added to sentiment in three of the colours.

The second project from my SSOTM Gorgeous Leaves class was this leafy Thank You card.

The eagle-eyed among you will notice that is similar to another recent project. This time, the colours and layout are different.

To create this card, a colour combination of Cherry Cobbler, Bumblebee and Old Olive team with Very Vanilla.

Each attendee had a pack of Matte Decorative Dots in their Class kits, so my colour combinations for the projects are taken from them.

This was also my annual Mostly Men class, so the projects have a more masculine feel.

Both of the ‘splat’ style stamp images are used to create a background for the leaves.

A mix of various generations of stamping create the leaves, cut out using the dies.

These are arranged before a tone-on-tone piece topped with the more delicate skeleton leaves is placed down one side.

Thank You is from the Beauty of Friendship Stamp Set on a cut out using the Double Oval Punch.

A piece of Linen Thread, also in the Class kits is looped behind.

Today’s project uses the Gorgeous Leaves Stamp Set and Dies Bundle from the July-December Mini Catalogue. It was the first card from last night’s Gorgeous Leaves Stamp Set of the Month Online Class.

It’s a remake of this project, just in different colours.

All of the attendees made 4 cards, with those opting for the Bundle as part of their kit given access to a video on how to make two additional projects.

My colour combination for the Class was taken from the Matte Decorative Dots.

This project uses Old Olive, Bumblebee, Evening Evergreen and Basic White

Gorgeous Leaves Bundle in Shades of Brown

Today it’s time to have another play with the fabulous Gorgeous Leaves Bundle from the new July-December Mini Catalogue.

I previous made this project and have remade it using the new Gorgeous Leaves Bundle (Gorgeous Leaves Stamp Set and Intricate Leaves Dies).

It’s my Stamp Set of the Month for my September Class. This is also my Mostly Men Class too. Make sure you book your place by Wednesday 18th August.

This time, my colour combination is Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Early Espresso with Very Vanilla.

Gorgeous Leaves Bundle lin Shades of Brown. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs

A background using the splat-type image from the Stamp Set is created using Crumb Cake. Leaves from the Stamp Set are then stamped and cut out using the Dies and layered on top of the background.

The strip of Soft Suede cardstock has Soft Suede leaf shapes from the Dies added to create a layered effect.

Love of Leaves Stamp Set provides the sentiment cut out with the Double Oval Punch. It’s backed by a length of Faux Suede Trim. Gorgeous Leaves Bundle lin Shades of Brown. Project designed by Karen at HIPPOFROG Designs Finally, some Brushed Metallic Dots add a touch of bling.
