Last Week’s Card & Cuppa for Children – Safari Smiles

This cute pair of elephants were the stars of last week’s Card & Cuppa for Children class.

The elephants and sentiment are from the Safari Smiles Stamp Set, with the leaves from the Greenery Lane Stamp Set. Both of these sets are on the Last Chance Products list, so grab them while you can.

To begin, the leaves were stamped around the edge in Garden Green to give a jungle effect.

Next, both elephants were stamped onto their rectangles in Secret Sea. With the sentiment stamped onto a separate piece too.

Each elephant was coloured using Stampin’ Blends. Mine are in Cloud Cover and Barely Blush, but the young attendees could choose their own colours.

The elephants were then mounted onto the larger Cloud Cover rectangles before being stuck onto the jungle.

Using Dimensionals, both the baby elephant and the sentiment were raised up in the foreground.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Purple Butterflies

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project is this trio of purple butterflies.

I had been asked for a purple project, so my colour combination is Fresh Freesia and Gorgeous Grape, with Lost Lagoon for the accent colour.

This project uses a couple of Two-Step Stampin’ Stamp Sets, All Aflutter and Greenery Lane.

Make sure you check out the Last Chance Products list to get your hands on the Greenery Lane Stamp Set while stocks last.

To begin, the large leaves from the Greenery Lane Stamp Set were stamped in Lost Lagoon to create a background. The smaller leaves were then placed around these, with the infill in second generation stamping.

Then, the tiny flower was added five times in Fresh Freesia.

Next, the butterflies from the All Aflutter Stamp Set were stamped twice onto a separate piece in the purples. Once in first generation, then again in second generation. They were then cut out using the coordinating All Aflutter Punch.

This gave us six butterflies, three slightly lighter than the others. Three were then chosen for the final project. I chose one dark and two lighter ones for mine.

A sentiment from the Banner Sayings Stamp Set and Triple Banner Punch is then stamped, layered and added to the bottom.

Each of the butterfly wings curled using a Paper Folder and then stuck to the project using Mini Dimensionals. These are placed to cover where the large and small leaves join each other.

Finally, small Iridescent Pearls are stuck in the centre of each of the five tiny flowers.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Introducing Peaceful Pine

At last week’s Card & Cuppa class, I completed my round up of the new In Colors by introducing Peaceful Pine.

As Wimbledon also started last week, it was time for my annual ‘inspired by Wimbledon’ project, so this new green fitted in perfectly.

My colour combination was Peaceful Pine, Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lolly and Basic White.

To begin, leaves from the Greenery Lane Stamp Set were stamped around the edges in Peaceful Pine and Fresh Freesia. The Two-Step leaf was stamped 1st generation for both the outline and inner.

Then, the small flowers were added in Lemon Lolly.

Next, the circles were cut out and the sentiment from Exciting Times Stamp Set was added. These were then layered together. I of course had to use Circle Punches for the sentiment to represent a tennis ball!

A length of the Essentials Baker’s Twine was coloured using Stampin’ Blends and made into a swoosh.

The sentiment circles were then raised up on Dimensionals.

Finally, Iridescent Pearls were coloured, again using a Stampin’ Blend, and added to the centre of three of the flowers.

The picture below shows a comparison of the new Peaceful Pine In Color against current Stampin’ Up! Colours.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Greenery Lane Stamp Set

Last week’s Card & Cuppa project used the Greenery Lane Stamp Set from the Mini Catalogue.

My colour combination was inspired by the Moody Palette Glossy Dots from the Online Exclusives range.

I chose Old Olive, Secret Sea, and Basic White. Instead of Cloud Cover I used Pool Party, plus Calypso Coral to add a bit more zing!

To begin, the various leaves were stamped around the centre. For the ones with Two-Step Stampin’ the outline was stamped first, then the centre was stamped second generation in the same colour to give a lighter effect.

Flowers were then dotted across the project.

Next, a sentiment, also from the Stamp Set was stamped onto a separate piece and stuck onto a punched circle layer. This 2″ Circle Punch is also in the Online Exclusives range.

The whole sentiment piece was stuck to the project using Dimensionals.

Finally, some of the Moody Palette Glossy Dots were added.
