Bugs, Beasts & Butterflies – Bee Thankful with Blends

My final project for the Bugs, Beasts & Butterflies Class was this cute Bee Thankful project.

He was stamped using the Stamparatus in Gray Granite Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock.

The layers are corner rounded using the Detailed Trio Punch.

Using Stampin’ Blend Combo Packs in Calypso Coral, Balmy Blue and Mint Macaron, the ‘thanks’ was coloured. Combo Packs in Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight coloured the leaves and cute bee.

Finally, a touch of Wink of Stella was used on his wings to give a bit of sparkle.

I think we can all think of a lot of people to say ‘thanks’ to at the moment. Why not make a card to show your appreciation?

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Bee Thankful meets new Watercolor Pencils

At least week’s Card & Cuppa I decided to use a mix of carryover items and products from the BRAND NEW Annual Catalogue.

This project saw the carryover cute Bee Thankful meet the brand new Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2.

These are a pack of 10 more pencils in Stampin’ Up! colours to add to the original 13.

We used the Stamparatus to ensure the image was aligned and stamped it with Gray Granite.

It was then coloured in a range of different pencils from the 25 available. A Blender Pen was then used to smooth out the lines and to blend the colours together.

Using the Detailed Trio Punch, we rounded the corners on the layers before adding a length of Baker’s Twine.

Another bee was stamped and the body and wings were cut out by hand. This was then attached over the original bee using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to make a more 3D effect.

The final little touch was some Wink of Stella on the wings for some bling.

Using Thick Whisper White Cardstock for the base with a Gray Granite layer is perfect for projects like this this as they work with any colour.

Bee Thankful

I’ve been waiting for the right time to use the fun Bee Thankful Stamp Set. When it came to making my thank you cards for my recent customers, it just had to be.

This stamp set is a bargain at only £13 for Clear Mount and £17 for Wood Mount. It’s a great fun stamp to have in your collection and is perfect for colouring too.

Stampin’ Blends are my colouring medium for these, but you can use many methods. As the Stampin’ Blends are alcohol markers, it’s best to use a water-based ink for the stamping to avoid colours running. I chose the Gray Granite Stampin’ Pad for this project.

I’ve used three different colours for the ‘thanks’, this one is Bermuda Bay. The other colours are Calypso Coral and Pumpkin Pie. The leaves on all of the projects use the Old Olive combo pack, with the bee in Dark Daffodil Delight.

They are then simply mounted onto a Thick Whisper White base card, with a layer to match the colouring.
