Mostly Men – Garage Gears Dies

Today I’m sharing the final project from my Mostly Men Papercrafing Class with you.

I really like the colour combination of Cinnamon Cider, Cajun Craze, Real Red and Very Vanilla for this project.

Once all the Garage Gears Dies pieces are cut out, this project is really quick to put together.

My sentiment is from the Well Said Stamp Set in Real Red ink that I’ve stamped onto a separate piece.

Dots of Multipurpose Glue attach the cogs. I have layered some behind others and left one of the cogs to use on the sentiment.

The car is attached using Dimensionals to raise it up off the project.

Finally, the sentiment is stuck down with the final cog added to it.

Mystery Pack – Garage Blues

Last week’s Mystery pack contained lots of blue items. Along with any of these items, the recipients were allowed to use scissors, adhesive, one inkpad and a sentiment to create a card.

The blues I used are Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Pool Party and Seaside Spray, along with Whisper White.

Here is the project I made with the contents of the pack, one inkpad, a sentiment, scissors and adhesive.

The shapes made using the Classic Label Punch created a great road effect for my project. Other recipients used the shapes as a picket fence.

My sentiment is from the matching Geared Up Garage Stamp Set and is stamped in Pacific Point to match the die cut car shape.

This project didn’t take long to put together and is a fun Birthday card for a car fan.

Last Week’s Card & Cuppa – Geared Up Garage

Every 6 weeks or so, I design a project for Card & Cuppa that is more suited to men. For this one, I reached for the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set.

Normally for male cards, there is a lot of blues, greens and Crumb Cake used. I opted for a slightly brighter palette. This combination of Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso make a nice change.

Oil splats from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set are randomly stamped across the page which. The nuts are then stamped in Early Espresso.

Cogs from the co-ordinating Garage Gears Dies are cut out from a piece of Sahara Sand Cardstock and are coloured using Sponge Daubers. A mix of Sahara Sand, Soft Suede and Cajun Craze make a nice rusty look.

There is a touch of Wink of Stella randomly applied across the cogs too.

Sponge Daubers have also been used to colour the edges of the project.

A dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blend Marker is used to colour some Whisper White Baker’s Twine that wraps around the project.

Finally, a sentiment cut using the Timeless Label Punch is added.

Mostly Men Class – Geared Up Garage Stamp Set and Garage Gears Dies

Here’s another project from my recent Mostly Men Class. Geared Up Garage Stamp Set and Garage Gears Dies create this fabulous classic car card.

The main colours are Poppy Parade, Basic Gray and Whisper White.

First, second and third generation stamping has been used for the oil spill background.

Once the car was stamped, I used the Light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blend to draw around the edge of the image before cutting it out. This softens the image and allows the car to stand out from the white circle behind it at the end.

Stampin’ Blend Combo Packs in Poppy Parade, Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight and Gray Granite have been used to colour the car image. The lighter colours for the main colouring, with the darker colours to create depth.

A Poppy Parade sentiment, with a few more oil spills, makes this fun sentiment stand out.

Finally, two punched circles layers are added for the car to sit on, before it’s all stuck together using SNAIL and Dimensionals.

I really like this fun card as everything can be co-ordinated to fit the colour of car you choose.

Garage Gears for Dad

I know it was a few weekends ago, but for Father’s Day I made this card using the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set and co-ordinating Garage Gears Dies.

It’s one of those stamp sets that I saw in the previous catalogue and wasn’t sure about. But when I found out it was carrying over, I took the plunge and purchased the bundle.

My main colours are Sahara Sand, Night of Navy and Balmy Blue for the layers and stamping.

I then went to town with the colouring of the cogs as they were Sahara Sand to begin with!

Sponge Daubers, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze made the rusty look.

Once I was happy, I ran a Versamark Inkpad over the top, not worrying if I missed bits. I then sprinkled Clear Embossing Powder over it set with a Heat Tool.

The finishing touch was the circle cut using the Stitched Shapes Dies and a strip of Copper Trim. I was pleased at how close to the colour of the trim I had manage to make my cogs.

With a change of sentiment, of which there are several in the Stamp Set, it would be great for any occasion.

I’m pleased to say that both recipients were extremely happy with their cards.
