Last Week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa – Home Together Dies

On this day in 2015, I held my first Card & Cuppa session in a local cafe. Fast forward 5 years and they are still running (currently remotely), with some attendees from those first few weeks still joining me.

For last week’s Card & (Your) Cuppa project I used the Home Together Dies.

I’d made this project for one of my regular attendees and they mentioned that they wouldn’t mind making one like it.

It’s a project that can be a New Home card, or a Christmas Card, depending on how it is finished.

The colour combination is Just Jade and Bumblebee In Colors, along with Mint Macaron and Whisper White.

First, a length of the Metallic Mesh Ribbon is added across the back of the project. I love using this ribbon in this way. It’s great for adding texture, especially as I’m currently unable to send stamped images.

Then, each house is assembled with the relevant heart or star insert.

These houses are then attached to the strip using Tear & Tape. As the ribbon has holes in it, the Tear & Tape manages to bind to the cardstock underneath.

Using Dimensionals, the car is aded between the houses, again with the adhesive sticking to the cardstock.

If making this a Christmas Card, the tree is popped on top of the car.

The sentiment sits on a length of Basketweave Combo Ribbon with a cut out from centre of the house.

Finally, a few Rhinestones are added for an extra touch of sparkle.

Happy New Home

One of my regular Class attendees moved house recently, so fingers crossed this card to say ‘Happy New Home’ has reached them safely at their new address.

They are a fan of blues, so I chose Pacific Point and Coastal Cabana as my colours, along with Whisper White.

These cute houses are from the Home Together Dies. By cutting them out twice, one in each colour, I was able to mix and match the pieces.

This set of dies is part both a Bundle and Suite in the August-December Mini Catalogue. Check out Pages 24-26 for more details. Plus, see details of the charities items from this Bundle will support, through the Stampin’ Up! Making a Difference scheme.

The houses sit on a background of stamping, made using images from the Pattern Play Stamp Set.

There is also a length of the fabulous Metallic Mesh Ribbon to add some sparkle. On top of this is a length of Coastal Cabana ribbon from the Playing with Patterns Combo Pack.

Dimensionals raise the central house from the ribbon.

Finally, Artistry Bloom Sequins in co-ordinating Coastal Cabana add some addtional sparkle.

Fingers crossed their new home will have access to the internet and I’ll be seeing them at my online classes again very soon.

New Home Card

A friend has just moved into a new home so obviously it needed a card to celebrate.

She’s popped a few pictures of her decorating progress on Facebook so I’ve taken my inspiration from her pink feature wall.

I stamped a background of Melon Mambo and Flirty Flamingo along with Rich Razzleberry accents. The stamp set for the background is Playful Backgrounds and is one I keep reaching for more and more. I’ve also used one of the stamps from Timeless Textures for some smaller dots.

The bird in the cage image is from Badges and Banners and I used Stampin’ Write Markers to colour it in once I’d stamped.

As I don’t have a ‘new home’ sentiment, I used the Labeler Alphabet set to make my own. I love how I can create any sentiment I like with a set like this.

The Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and Silver Foil Card have created the strip behind the sentiment.

I added a strip of thin Silver Ribbon to the top of the cage and then made a cute little bow to match it too.

To finish, Wink of Stella on the bird and some Rhinestones have added the obligatory bling for this sparkly lady.
