During the school holidays I’ve been holding Card & Cuppa for Children sessions. This is our regular Card & Cuppa session but for specifically for children aged 4+. It was a hit last year, so I decided to run it again this year.
Here is the project from last week.
I knew I wanted to use the Foxy Friends punch and design some punch art. It’s great fun for the children to create too. However, the project needed to not be too complicated for little fingers to produce, plus avoid using wet glue too!
A quick web search came up with lots of ideas, but I decided to create this cute mouse with their cheese.
So Saffron and Crushed Curry make the block of cheese with Smoky Slate and Flirty Flamingo for the mouse. As I didn’t want the children to get too messy, Early Espresso is the ink of choice as it is the darkest neutral inkpad that isn’t archival!
Circle punches are used for both the ears and the holes in the cheese. Instead of discarding the large hole, it’s been stamped on and cut out to form a wedge of cheese.
The image above uses smaller punches (1/2″ & 3/4″ Circles) for the ears than we used at class as once I’d made the project I thought it needed to be slightly less fiddly.
If you’d like to join us for next week’s Card & Cuppa for Children session then make sure you book your place by 18:00 the day before. Please note that numbers are limited.
